The Calling-Based Assignment Cycle™ is a five-stage process for recognizing, preparing for, fulfilling, and releasing the assignments a person is uniquely positioned to complete.
Your life has been preparing you for problems you were uniquely equipped to recognize, assignments you were specifically positioned to accept, and outcomes your leadership can help bring into the world.
Leadership Development Usually Begins With Skills. We Begin With Calling.

The call may emerge through:
Central question:
What is requiring my response?
Evidence of the call:
The matter continues returning even when ignored.

Preparation includes:
Preparation is both intentional and retrospective. Often, people do not recognize their preparation until the assignment appears.
Central question:
How has my life prepared me for this moment?
Evidence of preparation:
Experiences that once seemed disconnected begin to make sense together.

Empowerment may include:
Empowerment does not mean having everything. It means having enough clarity, capacity, courage, and support to take the first responsible step.
Central question:
What has been placed within me and around me to fulfill this assignment?
Evidence of empowerment:
Fear may remain, but uncertainty no longer controls the decision.

Execution requires:
This is where calling becomes measurable. A calling that never becomes action remains only an intention.
Central question:
What must I do now to move this assignment toward completion?
Evidence of execution:
Progress, responsibility, and results replace inspiration alone.

Release may be recognized when:
Release does not mean the work was unimportant or that every result is visible. It means your portion has been completed.
Central question:
Has my part in this assignment been fulfilled?
Evidence of release:
There is a settled sense of completion—even when the impact continues without you.

Surrender is not a separate stage. It is the posture that keeps every stage aligned.
Without surrender:
Surrender keeps the leader committed to the assignment without becoming consumed by ownership of it.
Your life has been preparing you for problems you were uniquely equipped to recognize, assignments you were specifically positioned to accept, and outcomes your leadership can help bring into the world. When the assignment is aligned, the necessary people, finances, resources, opportunities, and authority are often provided—or revealed—as you move forward.
Calling identifies the assignment. Preparation develops the leader. Empowerment and provision supply what is needed. Execution produces the outcome. Release completes the responsibility.
The Assignment Cycle™ reveals the path. The Reese Leadership Method™ equips you to lead through it.
